Project Manager (China)

Job Description:

You are the glue that binds the product team together and the grease that keeps the product moving in the right direction. You will help build a WeChat and web-based custom ERP and ecommerce website for a large Chinese company from the ground up. You will work alongside a senior team of front-end developers, back-end developers, quality assurance, and designers in Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy to bridge customer requirements to development tasks and great leadership skills to make that vision a reality.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise between our client and internal teams
  • Translate product strategy into requirements
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and client impact
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities by working closely with development teams to optimally deliver the product
  • Drive product launches including working with executives
  • Assist your peers who do not understand Mandarin

Experience and Qualifications (required unless otherwise noted):

  • Mandarin fluency (reading / writing) IS A MUST (please do not apply if you're not fluent in Mandarin)
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-­on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Jira Agile project management

Additional desirable skills and personal qualities:

  • Prior China work experience
  • Prior overseas education or working experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
