Sr. Manager, Finance & Administration

Job Description:

The position will have the responsibility for corporate finance, human resources, and administration for a small (but growing) venture builder. The successful candidate will lead and develop the finance, human resources, and administration as the company grows, including creating appropriate policies, processes, and procedures as well as ensuring and enforcing a corporate culture that follows the company’s vision and philosophies.

Responsibilities:

Accounting & Finance

  • Lead and manage all areas of administration and accounting operations, including monthly and quarterly close processes AR, AP, GL, revenue recognition treatment, compliance, collections, and monthly report packages in IFRS;
  • Take a leadership role in establishing organizational policies, operating procedures, and business controls that match the growth and complexity of the company;
  • Ensure that the financials are accurate and reporting is timely thus providing management with the best information possible to grow the business;
  • Ensure the timely and accurate filing of relevant corporate and tax filings in compliance with related laws and regulations;
  • Provide leadership and support to the management team on strategic initiatives;
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
  • Liaise with outside parties on relevant matters;

Human Resources

  • Lead and manage all areas of human resource, including staffing, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, employment development, and legal;
  • Prepare payroll, tax declarations, and submissions, report to the social insurance department employee movements, sick leave, and other related matters;
  • Develop, implement, enhance, and enforce human resource policies and procedures, personnel practices, and compensation programs that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company, create a great work environment, while keeping the legally compliant on human resource matters;
  • Liaise with employees to ensure that their concerns and suggestions are properly addressed by management, while also ensuring that employees understand and sympathetic to issues faced by the company;
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies and procedures to managers and employees, including maintaining the employee handbook, on-boarding new employees, and periodic training session for employees on HR related topics;
  • Keep up to date on all HR trends, including compensation, benefits, recruiting tactics and make recommendations and changes to ensure the company is a competitive employer that is able to attract new employees, while retaining our existing ones;
  • Develop and implement best-in-class recruitment strategies and selection procedures and coordinate with internal and external parties to attract high quality talent in a timely manner;
  • Provide direction and support in all employee relations matters, i.e. discipline, terminations, investigations, problem-solving, etc;
    • Enforce policies to ensure equitable and consistent treatment of employees

Other tasks assigned by Executive Management

Experience and Qualifications (required unless otherwise noted):

  • Chief Accountant certificate
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in audit at a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a relevant professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA
  • Strong knowledge on VAS, IFRS, US GAAP, and related Vietnamese tax and labor regulations

  • Demonstrated attitude and aptitude for an energetic start-up environment;
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English and Vietnamese;
  • Experiences in human resources is a plus;
  • Overseas education and/or working experience is a plus;
  • Experience in a high-tech software company is a plus;
  • Experience in a venture capital or private equity firm is a plus;
  • Chinese language skills (verbal and/or written) a plus;
